Map and Schedule

Our tentative plan for our trip through the summer of 2012 looks something like this:29537c402bccba1899353a5b9bcd89d8

We won’t see everything this country has to offer in a year, but we hope to see quite a bit! We also hope to avoid extreme cold and snow as much as possible. This helped us cut down on what we had to pack and, hopefully, what we’ll have to endure on the road.

Our general plan is to move up the East Coast in the summer, back down a little further inland in the fall, across the South in the winter, up the West Coast in the spring of 2011, and back through the middle of the country in the summer of 2012.

As you can imagine, our specific schedule is a work in progress. Here’s what we’ve got so far:

Schedule

This is a tentative list of where we plan to stop. We are also planning to make day trips into the areas surrounding many of these cities.

June 2011

  • June 1st, 2011 – leave our home in Central Florida
  • Savannah, GA
  • Myrtle Beach, SC
  • Raleigh, NC

July 2011

  • Washington, DC area
  • July 4, 2011Jared’s 31st birthday and, you know, Independence Day – celebrating with Kimberly and Amie!
  • Philadelphia, PA
  • Stewartsville, NJ – because Sarah is worth a detour (and she swears this part of New Jersey is “not like what you see on TV”).

August 2011

  • New York, NY
  • August 5- 7th – BlogHer in San Diego, CA; I’m speaking! I’ll be hopping on a plane and leaving Jared and the kids behind in NYC. Poor babies!
  • Stamford, CT – Kevin promised us food.
  • Providence, RI

Put yourself on our map!

If you’d like to see us when we go through your area, please add your name to our list. We’ll be getting in touch with people as we move closer to their state or city. Please fill out the form as there is absolutely no way I’ll be able to remember who said “hey! Stop to see me when you’re here!” – even if you’re my most favorite person ever.
